A grimpse of Athens, but at a different area. Usually I photograph Plaka, which is my absolutely favorite neighborhood, but today I spent my afternoon in Eksarheia, a more boho and artistic part of downtown Athens.  Actually I had my coffee there with my bestie and then we started walking around and taking photos.
So, I thought it would be interesting to share with you some of the results. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my dslr with me, but my phone has a really good camera and the amazing thing is that I have the option to play with the aperture, the  shutter speed and the iso! How cool is that?
I hope you like the images. Can’t wait to read your comments.
And if you share the same passion for photography with me, don’t forget to let in the comments the link to your blog or everywhere you post your images, so I can check them out and share my opinion.

Flower flats

Hello hello!
Lately I’ve been following on instagram Anna Remarchuk (@annaremarchuk) that posts some amazing flower flats (none of the above belong to her, if you want to see what I’m talking about go check out her profile). The first time I bumped into one of her photos I thought that it was so beautiful. Now I’m totally obsessed. I had never given a thought on shooting flowers not in the ordinary way, in a vase or at a garden. But I now realise that it so creative!
Now I want to try it and do it my way. And I did a first attempt, that you can see at my previous post.  Although I’m not that much into ripping flowers, ’cause I love them to much. Well yeah, I’m that person who talks to the flowers. But don’t worry I don’t wait for an aswer. Haha.
Anyway, do you think it is interesting? Let me know in the comments below!

Red rose

Hello there! Lately I stay a lot at home, so I decided to take advantage of it and be creative. It also happened to have a home full of bouquets, due to my roommate’s surgery, so I took a red rose, made it small pieces and started playing with my camera! Imaging that I had totally forgot that today is Valentine’s Day. By the way, do you celebrate today?
Anyway, do you like the result?

New beginnings

thearcadiangirl

Hello! New blog address, new name, new beginning!
But, first things first, happy new year to you all!! I hope this year is the best one yet.
I am sorry I didn’t post for almost two months, but life happens. Moving plans, hospitals, jobs and much more things kept me away from the internet. I only made it to post a few images on my instagram feed (username @thearcadiangirl, go follow me!) But I promise you, and I shall keep this promise, I will never leave anything to distract me from my baby blog again!
About the name and address change now. I know you are wondering yourself, why would I do something like this? Well, it is something I was thinking  for a long time, and I also attempt it once again in the past (hence the “fromarcadia” instead of “thearcadiangirl”, but I will fix that!) Since the new year came, I had this constant thoughts of changing it all, and I finally decided to do it. And, oh god, it feels so myself now.
Why am I the arcdian girl? Because I grew up in arcadia and is something that has left it’s mark on me. Arcadia is one of the most beautiful regions of Greece. Combines mountains and rivers and lakes with the sea and the beaches. If you haven’t visited toy should! So my region was the main influence for me in getting passionate with photography. So now I am the Arcadian Girl!

Will you follow along my adventures?

P.S: For more information about Arcadia visit Wikipedia!
