Focus

thedreamerblog1

Hello guys! Did you miss me? I just came back from a three-days trip to my hometown and I’m super excited because I found some time to snap some images around the fields I grew up at. I haven’t been there for more than five years. I mean, I do visit my parents quiet a lot, but I never walked around the fields that are full of olive trees and colors and for me are full of beautiful childhood memories.

So while I was walking around I decided to play with the light and the focus and this is the result. I am happy with it. It makes me want to go back there!

What do you think?

Unexpected turn

thedreamerblog1

Hello, here I am again! The past week was a difficult one, very very stressful. And what I do when I need to relax? Simple. I grab my dslr and go for a walk in the centre of Athens. My favorite neighborhoods are there. So, last Friday I took my camera, hopped on the metro and 20 minutes later I was at Acropolis station. I took a walk around Acropolis hill to Thisio, and while I was ready to go on my usual walk, I took a turn I never had before! I don’t even now in what neighborhood I ended at.

The point is I made it to relax, think of few things and now I feel brand new (almost)!

Do you have any tricks to relax?

Cinemagraphs… My 1st attempt

water again

Hello there, today I have something a little bit different to show you! Lately I have fallen in love with cinemagraphs. For those of you who don’t know a cinemagraph is what stands between a still photograph and a video. Just google and you are going to find some amazing examples. Or go straight to cimemagraphs.com where you can find some of my favorites! Mine (the one above) is not the best you could see, but don’t be harsh on me, I’m still learning!

Have you ever tried to make one? Which program did you use?

Summer evenings

thedreamerblog

There are some evenings, most evenings during summer actually, that immigrants and refugees, mostly from Africa, gather in Monastiraki square and play their traditional music and dance. A real feast! I admire so much these people. They left their countries, because of poverty or even wars, and they have been through hell to arrive in “peaceful” Europe for a chance in a better life. But when they come in Europe nobody wants them. Everyone believes that those people are criminals and for what reason? Because they are from Africa or Syria or Pakistan or anywhere else with different culture. Anyway. Have an amazing weekend!!

Couleur locale

the dreamer blog

Hey all! It’s a new week. A hectic one. Not only for me, but the whole Greece as well. A referendum has been announced and the propaganda is massive. So me and my friends felt the need to talk about it. We talk a lot about politics! But it was Saturday and we were all so bored of staying indoors to study the whole week thus we decided to have a drink. This is how I went to this roof garden bar for the first time in my life. It’s really well hidden. And I felt in love with this place and this is why I want to share some images I took with you!

Oh, and just look at the Acropolis’ view from up there!!

P.S: I was thinking that my next post should be about the greek crisis and the way the greek society experiences it, would you be interested? Let me know on the comment section!

Almost empty street

image

It has been a while since my latest post here. Life goes too fast lately and I feel like I have to run sprints the whole time. It’s not that I have too many things to do. But with what happens with politics and economy lately in Greece, it’s like the disappointment I feel paralyses me. This is really bad, especially now. In fifteen days my exams start and I want to succeed in as many lessons as possible. It’s time to graduate from university. It’s time for me to go on.
So please forgive me if I don’t post a lot here for the next one and a half month! Although, you can follow me on instagram (@thedreamerblog) for daily updates!!
About the image now. It’s hard to count how many times every week I cross this street. Till last time I never thought to take a photo. But, last time I walk through it was empty. If you have ever been to Athens centre you know that traffic jam is an understatement. So I got the chance and stood in the middle of the street and here it is! A beautiful day in my city!!
